U. S. head coach Bob Bradley named 18 players on the roster to face Brazil on August 10. The squad included 14 players who had played in the World Cup this past summer in South Africa.  The four newcomers to the squad were Alejandro Bedoya, Sacha Kljestan, Chad Marshall, and Jermaine Jones. Bedoya, Kljestan, and Marshall all barely missed out on the World Cup, as they were fringe players. Bedoya …

In BeginingTobacco and cigarettes

The snuff is believed to have originated in the American continent itself. Native Americans have been growing and smoking snuff right from when Maya civilization was in the Yucatan Peninsula and Central America. A tribe living along the banks of the Mississippi is believed to be the first Native American snuff consumption, but later it was difficult to distinguish because each tribe has the habit of growth and consumption of snuff.

Christopher Columbus was the person who is responsible for bringing the snuff to Europe and eventually worldwide. When Columbus came to America in 1492, he had not found keen to snuff smoking, but members of his crew were more than impressed with the snuff. It was for the American tour of Christopher Columbus that the use of snuff spread to Spain and Portugal, and later to France and from there, gradually worldwide.

There is much speculation about snuff the origin of the term, but the exact origin is still unclear doubt. Tabasco is the name of a state in Mexico and some associate the term with snuff as it had Maya is a large population of Native Americans in Mexico once. Although this theory is believed by some experts, the alternative is that thought is actually the snuff a mispronunciation of Tobago, an island in the West Indies. The scientific name of snuff Nicotiana tabacum, which is believed to have originated from the French ambassador name of Jean Nicot.

Virginia and Maryland were the two main areas in the United States, where the snuff was grown, but it all started with a planting unique in Virginia, more than a hundred years before the first cigarette was manufactured in the United States in 1612. The snuff is used initially as a means to smoke a pipe only in the United States, which is up to Israel Putnam introduced the cigar to new Americans. The general brought the cigars from Cuba, where war had revolutionary taken near the end of the 18th century. As is imaginable, the flavor of Cuban cigars soon caught the attention of smokers and snuff producers alike and many plants were started Connecticut cigar before and Harford.

Although Europe was the first continent in the modern world come to know of snuff, cigars are not mass produced there. Due to some reason, the pure had to wait until the War of Independence was over to reach the optimal popularity. After the war had ended, British and French soldiers returned to their respective countries. They brought the cigarette smoking habit with them as they had been in Spain for quite some time during wars. Therefore, in the 19th century, tubes were replaced with cigars, especially the aristocrats and the wealthy as a preferred way of smoking. Still there is no denying that smoking a cigarette seems elegant elite instead of other forms of smoking snuff.

Why are children still being taught that Chris Columbus discovered America?

Children continue to attend to celebrate Christopher Columbus, but my question is why? When learning the true story of this man was not a good for nothing. We all know that Native Americans were already this land when Chris and his team came so how exactly what "discovering" a land that already live in? He went on to trick, fantastic and violation of the natives of the land to take them. Also he did not die even knowing that he was in this country instead of believing he had reached to its original goal of the Indies: Why, after knowing the real story is the children are still taught the lies?

Short answer: It is very simple. For most Americans, our history is one of the Native American tribes. It is one of European descent. Or, the corollary of closing the institution European slavery, which brought this country to blacks. Either way, the roots are European. As such, America was "discovered". And again, is simple. For primary school children, are they really going to process that civilizations were large and sprawling across what is now Mexico and South America? Only generates a million other questions: "What happened to them?" Why? " etc. For our purposes in this country, right or wrong, the issue is reserved for the study of specialty high school level or university +. Children in primary and secondary schools do not retain much of the story anyway. It is a background theme that children remember most. As such, teachers focus on the main things that influenced what became the United States: and this includes "the discovery of Columbus. It also can be cheaper that Columbus brought European civilization to the United States. European awareness of these other continents previously uknown whole was a monumental moment in the history of mankind. This is how I tend to think of the holiday more than a celebration of the life of Columbus or the millions of Indians died from European diseases and deaths on arrival.
